This mat is heavy duty and has some great grip on it. This mat has worked well and is a good base for under desk step elliptical.

Perfect! It holds the elliptical in place. Before it was sliding everywhere and messing up the pedaling rhythm, this fixed that issue really quick.

This double-sided, textured, non-slip mat is the perfect size for a small stair climber or ellipticycle (or whatever other contraption you’re sweating on these days). I have a compact step machine that came with a carpeted mat that likes to moonwalk across my hardwood floors every time I use it. Not ideal—especially since there’s nothing to hold on to, and tipping over mid-step workout is not my idea of cardio.This mat was the perfect solution. No chemical smell, it immediately lays flat, & when rolled up, it fits neatly in a gym bag or backpack—for storage or travel (I don't know why you'd need to travel with it, but just in case you’re that person wondering, "Is it travel-friendly though?"—I got you). It's the perfect size, stays completely put, & the double-sided texture means it doesn't matter how it's placed down. It provides resistance for both the equipment and the floor—so the mom brains, like me, don’t sustain a major injury from absentmindedly putting the mat down upside down 🙃.It could, of course, be used for a number of other purposes. Conveniently, it's also the perfect size for a floor fan. We keep a 20" fan in our bedroom for white noise & noticed it would slide around on high speed like it was trying to escape the room. But this mat holds it perfectly still—no more wall-banging vibrations or middle-of-the-night fan migrations.It's not as thick as those interlocking gym mats, so my robot vacuum & mop can glide over it without getting all dramatic & yelling at me that it's stuck. It’s still thick enough to protect my floors & add a little cushion. And cleanup is easy: mop it, rinse it, sweep it, wipe it—whatever your cleaning mood dictates.Bottom line: this is a surprisingly versatile, slip-resistant mat that does its job—quietly, efficiently, & without trying to do parkour across your floor.

I have three devices which this mat pairs well with: two elliptical and one bicycle floor pedal. I have a different mat sandwiched between each device and a hardwood floor. Thus, one is dealing with two interfaces, one between the device and the mat; the other between the mat and the floor. At either interface there can be slippage--I find it more prone to occur between machine and the upper surface of the mat. This is not only because there is less contact area, but mostly because some mats use a fabric upper surface rather than a rubberized one. Therefore I obtained this mat to replace the one I have that has a fabric upper surface.More than just having a rubberized top surface is that it has an identical bottom surface. If one side becomes dirtied it can be flipped over to a clean surface. Both top and bottom surfaces have a slightly raised diamond pattern and the "rubber" itself is quite durable. The inner material is what appears to be a closed cell foam, possibly neoprene. It stands up to the weight of the devices quite well, and serves both to slightly quiet the machine and to accommodate slight variations in the underlying floor material.As to size, this is both wider and longer than many. Most will appreciate the larger size, but should you require a small pad it is easy to trim with scissors to your preferred size and shape.Both with respect to individual characteristics and overall, I find this the best pad I've encountered for these floor exercisers. I would seek this one out if I found the need to acquire another.

This is decent. Before getting this, my under the desk elliptical would slide around on the carpet. This does a great job of keeping it still. The size is great for my elliptical and fits under my desk. It's not too thick, but also not too thin. The mat sits nicely on the floor and is sturdy, so you don't have to worry about wear and tear. If you have one of these ellipticals, then you really should get one of these to help you keep it still without any issue.
