I have been looking for a way to make my "builder's special" vinyl slider more secure. A length of 2" PVC pipe helps keep it from sliding, but I wanted lift protection too. This has filled the bill. It went onto my cheap POS slider in about 15 minutes. It would've been about 10 minutes had I positioned it correctly the first time. Two small holes into the door and one large hole into the frame. Works like a champ! Not 100% fool proof, but does give me a little peace of mind.

Used to use a pice of wood as extra security on my patio door. This is much easier and just as secure.

I used a 15/16" bit for the main bolt hole as I didn't have a 12mm bit. I ran the drill bit in and out of the bolt hole and was able to get the bolt tension nice and snug when locked. Installed it on a vinyl glass sliding door. Used the longer lock body screws that were for a wood frame instal, they have an assortment of screws for different doors, the longer screws grabbed the vinyl better I felt giving a real stout attachment feel. Use pilot holes on ever screw point and it should be a great backup lock system.

Lack of directions to address an exterior installation but easy to figure out. It requires METRIC drill bit to properly install and the drill bit was not accessible at ANY auto parts, hardware or general store and had to be ordered online. They should either make it available in Standard form or include the metric drill bit.It is a great lock to use when your slider doesnt come equipper with a means to lock it. Easy 5 minute install by 1 person.

This lock was bigger than I expected but in a good way. Seems very solid and does the job expected. I would buy it again

This is the 3rd lock we have tried in about 18 months on this door and this will be the last for a long time. Very sturdy and easy to install and so much easier to use than the previous two locks we have tried.

I hesitated for months to buy this because of the mixed reviews and now I’m kicking myself for not getting it sooner. Sliding patio doors are extremely easy to break into and having a bolt on the other end helps prevent robbers being able to mess with the lock latch/pry open door. I did this by myself (female) with 0 mistakes and it took maybe 20minutes which is partly because I read the instructions 5x seeing if I was missing something bc it was so easy and other reviews said it was unclear. Lock itself seems heavy duty and again so easy to install! All I had to do was drill a hole for the bolt then add two screws to attach the main part & done! Peace of mind & super simple!

This lock is very sturdy and fairly easy to install despite not having very detailed instructions. Unless you have a very narrow drill or an angled drill you should take sliding door off to get hole for dead bolt straight. I did make mine work without taking door off by using slightly larger drill bit than manufactuer says to use. I would purchase this lock again.

Great lock and super quality. I would like to see more detail on the instructions though. I have a sliding pocket door and I had to remount the lock a couple times as I had it too close to the upper corner of the door and didn't leave enough space for the locking pin to slide past the metal hole cover. So I had to drop it down another 1/4". Then when I went to drill the 1/2" hole for the pin to go into the door header my drill was too fat to get in close enough to the side of the door opening. I then had to move the lock over a bit. Now that I know all of that it will only take maybe 10 minutes to mount another lock on a second pocket door.
