We place these ceramic rings in aquarium mesh bags and place them in the water features in the garden. The difference in water quality with and without these rings is dramatic. Like bio balls, they provide the necessary environment for organic, natural balance to keep water clean and fresh. Bravo.

These were a lot bigger than I expected which is great. My AquaClear filter only needs about half the amount of each bag per change so I bought some mesh bags and divided everything into halves. Highly recommend!

The media are very well made, (perfect surface for beneficial bacteria to colonize; good, hefty feel), and should last indefinitely. Easy to clean in the sink or even better results with a hose-end sprayer. Definitely contributes toward the goal of crystal clear water in my tanks.
