I am very disappointed in this. It only lasted for 24 hours and I charged it for 8 hours like it said, but I bought it in December and didn't get my fish tank changed over until a week ago.And now it's past the return window, and now I'm out $20.

Power outages used to be a major source of stress for me as a fish keeper. I'd worry about my fish not getting enough oxygen. This battery-powered air pump has completely eliminated that worry. It automatically kicks in during power outages, ensuring that my fish continue to get the oxygen they need.

We ordered this pump since we have a couple of the battery-operated ones that we use from-time-to-time when we have a blackout during hurricane season. While those have been lifesavers for our aquarium friends, those things get loud and are not the most convenient if your batteries die and you cannot get out of the house due to debris from a natural disaster. So we had been looking for a rechargeable pump and we found this little rechargeable unit.We were able to charge this unit quickly and just kept it charged, in its box, until we needed it. We are happy to repot it did not discharge while it was in the box. This unit is most definitely more silent than the battery operated water pumps we used. We were able to run this unit for a full day with the intermittent feature.We deducted one star given that, typically, these type of pumps are meant to be more for emergencies than relying on them as a main pump for the aquarium.In conclusion, this is a great pump for an emergency and or to transport aquatic life.

I have quite a few fish tanks. The tanks are all different sizes. The one issue that I have is that I am in need of having air in the tanks during extended outages. i lost some fish last year when my filters and pump all quit on a 90 degree day. The oxygen crashed. Now I am making sure to have backups for my tanks.USB CORDThe USB cord in this plugs into the pump has to be plugged into a USB outlet or adapter. Depending on what location your plug is in, you might need to have a USB extension cord. I have to use one for this.TUBINGThe tubing is pretty good and is long enough to run this from most locatoins to the tank.CHECK VALVEThe check valve that came with the set worked okay, but make sure to check it out by blowing in the correct end to be sure air passes through. Put the point away from the pump, you insert it into the tubing between the pump and the rest of the tube (in case you are new at this, you cut the tube a few inches from the pump to insert the check valve).POWERThis has plenty of power to run a single air stone into the tank that I want to use it in. I use this on air setting when it is plugged in and not intermittent. When there is no power, it is easy to read how much battery is left.OUTAGEWhen there is a power outage, I immediately go to the pump and press for the intermittent setting. The light blinks green. When the pump is on battery and goes to intermittent, it can run for about 24 hours. I have not had to run it beyond that before plugging it in again.AIR STONEAfter soaking the air stone for an hour or two running it made some decent fine bubbles. It is a round ball and pretty sizeable.QUIETThis pump runs nice and quietly. I have had no issues with either hanging it from the clip on a hook or laying it flat.THE BOTTOM LINEThis works well so far in the 5 gallon tank that I got it for. I had to have a USB outlet and USB extension cord to reach the outlet I needed.RATINGFIVE STARS. This pump is good so far for running as a plug in pump and a back up power outage pump. I hope it lasts for some time. If it came with a small footprint outlet adapter, it would be perfect.

I got this air pump for my betta tank, and it works great. My last pump was loud and that's distracting when we are trying to watch tv. This pump is so quiet I had to look a few times to make sure it was still running. I like that it has a rechargeable battery, so I don't have to run the cord if I don't want. It comes with everything you need to set it up and use it. It is well made and so far, has worked wonderfully. The air output is great for the small size of the pump. It does have a steady air or an intermittent air setting which I thought was kind of nice. The led screen is easy to read how much battery charge you have. I have run it with it not being plugged in and the battery lasts a long time, so when the power goes out as it sometimes does in my area, I don't have to worry about it. For the price I think this air pump is well worth it and would recommend it to anyone in need of a good quality tank air pump.
