They are economically designed and comfortable to hold. The blades appear to be sharp, and a leather strop for sharpening them is included. This is clearly a set intended for beginners, as there are a limited number of knives and limited number of shapes. This is not a drawback it just is what it is. The price is excellent for what you get, although brand names may reflect quality and this is not a brand I am familiar with. All in all, it seems like a good set for beginner.
