The concept is great, but it simply doesn’t work. I’d give negative stars after calling customer service for “support.” The first one I ordered could not get past the map stage. “Support” verified a problem with the machine, but never followed up with the email. So a replacement was sent through Amazon (thank goodness I purchased through there) The replacement was able to create a map (after a lengthy software update out of the box) but failed on the first cleaning attempt. The unit would not shut off and left a pile of rubber from the burn out it was doing in the 45° corner. “Support” could not get the unit to shut off, asked me to make the attached video, and then never followed up. When calling to ask about any damage done to my floor, I was hung up on.

This is my second Roomba. Daughter got my first one (over 5 years old and still working!) when we moved. This one was easy to setup and I love the way the new one finishes a room before moving to next scheduled area. Haven’t bought replacement bags yet but really like the unit emptying when returning to home base for charging.

Package arrived on time, set up was easy enough. I am not impressed with the app. There’s no mapping available. The app tells me to check again for most sections. Without mapping, the bot did run around part of the house, emptied its self twice then took its self back to recharge. It only ran less than 90 min from fully charged. It also doesn’t seem very effective on pet hair. It is kind of what we wanted/need, but not quite. Different levels of flooring were ok, getting under things and around stuff was good. It set up (I guess, since the mapping feature isn’t available) only half of the family room, missed the back hallway and got only the edges of the kitchen and foyer before it ran out of power. I have no idea if it will cover the left places, but seemed to do the livingroom and dining room ok.I’m giving it a few more days to see if the app issues sort out and if it picks up where it left off, but the sad cleaning of pet hair may require me to return it.

The screen interface is terrible! Impossible to make the Roomba do what you want when you want it to. Options keep disappearing—that’s just one problem. I can’t say enough negative things about that aspect of this Roomba. It does clean fairly well. This review is for the Roomba 105 without the mop function.

I've let the Roomba 105 roam around and clean for quite a few days now, and I am thoroughly impressed with its vacuuming capabilities and the way it navigates my home.Vacuuming Capabilities: To start off, my rugs are quite new and untouched, which means they aren't flattened out from years of foot traffic, so I feel like this helped the Roomba get the deep clean it has been getting since I've had it running. Every time the Roomba finishes its clean, it's noticeable, and my carpets look just like they did when I was using my corded vacuum. I was very happy about this because I wasn't sure if a robot vacuum would have the suction power and bristle brush work like a corded one has. I can now say that the Roomba 105 definitely has that power, and the bristle brush work is the same, leaving me with a clean-looking carpet. The battery holds up quite well for the amount of suction power it produces while mobile. It will usually sit around 70-75% battery after a full clean on the main floor, which I would imagine is around 800 SQ FT of free floor space. The edge sweeping brush I found to be good for the carpets but also very good on wood flooring, and since I have two dogs, there's hair everywhere, which the sweeping brush has done a great job at grabbing. Once it's finished the job, the powerful vacuum inside the home base sucks the dirt out of the Roomba’s dust bin and into a vacuum bag. After 8 days of daily cleaning, the vacuum bag makes it easy to see that all the dirt, dust, and hair is getting cleaned up.Navigational Capabilities: Its navigation is spot on, and I would guess that's because of its design with the ClearView LiDAR that is located in the disc that stands out on top of the vacuum. I can see it rotating inside when it's vacuuming, and it's been very accurate. It stops about half an inch away from the walls and other obstacles and doesn't have to use its bumper all too often. I did use the Roomba 105 in a dark room, and that's where I saw it using its bumper more often, but in a well-lit room, that wasn't the case, and it could see everything in its path. No issues with it completing its cleaning; it has so far always been able to make it back to the home charger with accuracy.Notable Features: I'll start with the Roomba Home application since it has a simple layout and it's easy to use. Recognizing the Roomba 105 and pairing it to my Wi-Fi took no longer than 5 minutes, though the update did take a bit of time, around 15 minutes to finish updating the Roomba 105. As the Roomba got started mapping my main floor, I was able to see it on the app, and once it’s finished mapping the rooms, it will show me the whole layout, which then gives me the options to clean all the rooms or just one of the rooms. I can also set an automation with the preferred time and day I would like the Roomba to start cleaning, very handy as I don't need to go to the app to get things started all the time. I also found it useful that when the Roomba is vacuuming, it will show me on the app in light green the surface area it's cleaned and the area that still needs to be cleaned, which is in white. It helps me know where to walk as I don't want to interrupt its cleaning pattern.Another notable feature would be how easy it is to maintain. The casing with the rubber gripper that helps pull the rug up for a deeper clean can be taken off very easily by pushing in the two clips, and the same for the dust bin, which can be taken off by pushing in the two light green release buttons on the backside of the Roomba. The filter is located on top of the dust bin and can be replaced easily when the time comes. I appreciate that there was a spare filter in the box to make it easy for me to quickly get that replacement done. Inside the Home base, where the vacuum bag is kept, there is a brush and a safety cutter, which is great for cleaning any dust build-up on the Roomba along with cutting hair off the bristle brush. Super helpful when it comes time to maintain the vacuum.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the Roomba 105 robot vacuum, and I plan to use and maintain it for as long as possible!

Cleans my large kitchen and living room within 40 minutes. I don’t mind that it takes that long. I just set it up to vacuum every night and make sure to pick up toys and dog food from the floor. I guess I don’t have to but it helps it work faster and better. It doesn’t vacuum under my kitchen table very well so now I put the chairs up on the table too every night after dinner and just wake up to vacuumed floors every morning. Also, it’s somewhat quiet and never got stuff on my rugs. I have a lot of rugs. I love it

This Roomba arrived extremely well packed in a durable cardboard box. The unit had great protection and arrived with no flaws. We had a robotic vacuum in the past that was effectively a dumb model, it randomly wandered until its battery ran out - you then would have to go find it (typically stuck somewhere), retrieve it and empty it out, manually recharge, and repeat the process again. This unit is in a completely different league!Setup was easy with the quick guide, and I was able to install the app using the QR code, and get up and running fairly quickly. Our home is a century home, with lots of obstacles, transition thresholds and is mainly hardwood floors. We do have the challenge of a very shaggy area rug in one room (see photo), but it seemed to handle it well - although it did have to dance back and forth now and then to not get stuck, and this was impressive! When having the unit automatically map out the rooms I had set it off with only a partial charge. I have attached a photo of when it had gone home to recharge. It found its way home fairly quickly and with zero intervention.Once the full map was created I set the unit off to clean. You will see another image of the floor map showing the are it covered. The most impressive is how well it covered the area under our dining room chairs - I have included an image of the table and eight chairs so you can compare to the map - it didn’t miss a spot! You will also notice an area on the right upper ‘leg’ that appears to have not been vacuumed; this is actually a staircase. It saw the wall when mapping, so illustrated it, but was able to detect the edge and not fall.Overall Verdict?Couldn’t be more pleased, easy to set up, faced all challenges with surfaces and obstacles, cleaned well and returned home without issue. Highly recommended!

I haven’t had a Roomba since the first models came out. Over the years, I realized that the brand was not innovating much compared to others and that when they did, it was only with their higher-end models. This 105 model is, to me, a disappointment. Compared to my now aging, 5 year old, 360 S8 robot vacuum (equipped with a LiDAR scanner), it brings nothing new besides the AutoEmpty Dock and there are plenty of affordable models offering this nowadays.Set up was terrible, it forced a firmware update and got stuck updating. It was not my internet connection — all other devices worked perfectly fine. I could not do anything from the app and the suggestion to reboot the machine did not work as it kept saying that the Roomba firmware update was ongoing and that I should wait about 10 more minutes. After trying several times and failing to reboot and waiting for over 3 hours, I removed the battery for 10 minutes and restarted the machine. The update had been installed, something had simply bugged along the way.Once the update was done, the 105 started mapping my house. I set it up on the main floor — it’s only 1,100 square feet. Mapping took quite a while and I could not help but notice how drab the map looks. Just some beige blob. Coming from an app where the rooms are all color coded, this did not look great. After mapping I let the vacuum charge back to 100% (it charges at an extremely slow rate) and sent it to a couple of rooms. It got stuck multiple times in places where my other robot vacuum would not. It damaged the corners of my natural fiber rugs, lifting them up and rolling them. I had never had such an issue before. It did not go under a shelving unit that has an 8 inch clearance. Not great. It did an okay cleaning job (I selected the high suction setting) but I still had to go clean after it with my Dyson stick vacuum in a few places. After letting it charge again, I sent it to my living room. It started doing the whole perimeter part and voiced the fact that it needed to go the dock to empty itself. It went to the dock and kept spinning in front of it, never emptying. It got back to vacuuming and after about 5 minutes, sent some distress signal in the middle of the living room. Apparently, the battery died right there. It did not automatically go recharge before the battery depleted! I’m just shocked. This is a $500 vacuum, granted it’s “only” $300 without the dock. How is that even possible in 2025? Not only was the battery life unimpressive but it did not even go back to the dock to charge before dying. The app keeps giving me errors and asks me to try again when I want to make mods to the map. I wonder if it’s a server issue. Creating cleaning zones is convoluted. You cannot do it on the go, you have to go edit the map. Not to mention that the user interface is awful with buttons not scaling properly, for instance. This Roomba 105 is the perfect example of a big brand resting on its laurels. I am not impressed. It's not worth the money. It's a basic robot that should not have been released in 2025. It does not work properly, the app is extremely buggy. Avoid this!

I already have/had a robot vacuum, knock off not name-brand, and it is kind of a pain to take out the basket after every 2nd use. It also has a tendency to get stuck or 'lost' under the couch, beds, the dining room table, etc.,. So far this Roomba seems a lot 'smarter' than my old robot vacuum; doesn't get stuck or lost, it seems to remember the map once it completes the procedure, and generally performs better in just about every way. Plus, 75 days without having to dump the bin! I will probably only go a month or so, but I will also use it a lot more than my previous vac.

Arrived on time and in perfect condition. Our child is extremely excited about the "robot in the box." It works well so far - setup was easy and it's quiet and seems durable. In a house with a three year old, three cats, and two full-time jobs, this will be an great addition. We need all the help we can get, and it's nice to know our Roomba will be working while we're away.

This was our first venture into robot vacuums. In general we were very impressed with its performance. One observation is that if you suffer from pet hair then get the model specifically designed for that. We only have "visitor" dogs yet the hair was sufficient to clog the vacuum. However the design is such that it is easy to clean
