Installed this on a customer's 2001 Silverado that had solved the issue of the battery draining after the vehicle would sit for 5 days or longer. Several different shops performed diagnostics to pinpoint the source of the electrical draw but failed to do so. With such a minimal electrical draw it was likely not worth devoting any more time. I installed this cutoff switch on the negative battery terminal. Because of it's small size, yet sturdy design it easily fit and will last.

Exceptional. I can now go to my plow truck without a battery booster in hand. I don’t have to worry about the security (and Onstar) system draining my battery. Yeah I know ‘the fuse’ but try to find it on a 2000 Tahoe! The isolator works!

Solidly made, does what it’s supposed to, but two criticisms: the bolt with it was too short. It screwed into my battery about half a turn. I was able to find a bolt about 5mm longer that worked. Second, it came without any instructions at all. Not a big problem as it’s pretty obvious, but I have no idea what the red and green fuzzy washers are for. On a top post battery I assume they would go around the post and help keep acid away from the brass. But on a side post battery, that’s not an issue.On both the side and top post versions of this switch, when the cutoff knob is removed, the whole thing can come apart without much effort, and the white insulator could get lost if it fell off. This may be intentional (the coming apart) but I can’t think why. It would be better if it was strong without the knob installed.

At first I thought the price for this was a little too high. But after I figured out how to install it it seemed to work for a day or two. I thought the price was worth it. Then I went to go reconnect to my battery and there was no power going through it the middle section of the switch had come apart and I had to take it off for the time being. To find a way to remedy this.
