ANTERCITE Battery Operated Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector ReviewI realized recently that, although we have smoke alarms all around the house, we don't have one in our living room where our wood stove sits. As we heat all winter with wood, we are certainly at risk for a fire in that room. So I ordered this one to fill that gap.The included instructions were easy to follow, though they contained the inevitable spelling errors that come with most EVERY Chinese-made product these days.I tested the device for smoke by holding it above my open wood stove door just after shutting down the damper. I did not get a big bloom of smoke but there was certainly enough to conduct a test. In a few moments the blue light was flashing furiously and a bit later the alarm sounded. As noted elsewhere the alarm is quite loud and will certainly wake me, though I am not so sure about my wife due to her progressively bad hearing. It was certainly loud enough to drive my two dogs from the room that's for sure!Price-wise, this detector seems to be about in the middle, but because of it's smaller size, it will mount in tight places where the big boys will not.4 stars only because of uncertainty over the battery longevity. I have had other "10 year" smoke detectors fail prematurely, but they do last for X number of years, so this one will most likely as well.

These 2-in-1 carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are perfect. The digital display is super handy - it shows CO levels clearly, which is great for staying aware. The warning sounds are loud enough to grab attention but not obnoxious.Installation was a breeze, and they come with everything you need. It’s durable and works well. It works as intended and looks nice to. Easy to activate and install. Comes with batteries, anchors and screws for mounting. Just mount and done! I like the easy access battery compartment on this model.I am sick and tired of buoying smoke detector with the built in batteries that are supposed to last years and years. This model is better because you can change de batteries instead of buying a new detector.

Not much to say about this, and I'm not sure how to test that it works well, but all the buttons, etc. do work fine. The build quality seems very cheap - the plastic is thing and feels like it would easily break if dropped. But it looks fine when mounted. Overall, I'm happy with it since the price was very low, and it shipped free to me overseas.
