Use the diagram for switch Type A. Positive power DC goes into "power in", and over to switch then load power on second switch connection (or power being switched) Then "neg" goes carried through the power source to "power in" the ON to the load , it does not go onto "switch" like Type C.There is your helpful hint for this 12V switch. Pain? yup, but so far it works.

I’ve used a lot of these for different applications. They’re fine. But not weather proof so if used outside install in a weather proof box and even then, don’t expect it to last a long time.

First one did not work. Wasted a bunch of time. Returned and purchased a second. Second one did not work at all. Wasted even more time. Extremely mad that I spent so much time on two pieces of junk.

Installed it to control my generator backup system. Seems to work perfectly most of the time but am having some miscues of late. The timer appears to be working correctly but so does the generator. There may be a programming glich or i could be retarded, but will dig deeper and report back
