Works for a variety of tasks around the yard. Starting campfires, weeding, opening holes in landscape fabric, and refreshing faded storage totes are some of the tasks I've used this for. It gets a good flame when the gas flow is set correctly, but will go out if it's set too high or there's a lot of smoke in the air at the point of operation, so it can be hard to keep it running consistently. The extended handle design is easier to use than a traditional propane torch. The price is fair. My father in law borrowed it for a camping trip and ended up getting one for himself.

Writing this review exactly 367 days after I ordered this item. Used it approximately 12 times last year and it was just okay. Stored in garage over winter and when I pulled it out to use today, valve control was a complete fail. To place in context, I have propane torches acquired in the 1970s that are still in working order. Poor quality.

Very disappointed! Product arrived as promised. From day 1, there were issues with the pressure regulator valve. It was very hard to turn, and provide little to no control over the flame. As time went on, the issue with turning the valve became worse. Now, after the return period has expired, the value will not turn at all -- it is frozen shut. That means the item is now completely unusable. Just another piece of junk to add to the pile. When it did work, it seemed to do a reasonable job. I would suggest it would be suitable for people with smaller areas to deal with. And it does seem to use propane at an enormous rate (but that could be a side effect of the issues with the regulator). All in all, it may have been what I was looking for, but the issues with the product did not allow me to get far enough to be certain. Not recommended.

I used it for my interlocking patio to kill the weeds. It works but time consuming.

I used my torch to burn weeds in my sidewalk and driveway. It was easy to start and use. I do wish it was a little longer, it would have been easier on my back.

I bought this Propane Torch Weed Burner and four 14.1 oz propane canisters. I assembled the torch and attached a canister - everything worked beautifully the first day and I used an entire canister. Everything also worked beautifully on the second day and I depleted a second canister. The 3rd day, I could not get propane to flow through the torch. I disassembled and reassembled the torch with no luck; however, when removing the propane canister, I was able to verify that it was charged because it released propane when I detached it (as did the other fully charged canister). I determined that the problem is with Adjustable Flame controller because no propane would flow through even when the torch was disassembled. Amazon will not accept returns for this torch nor issue refunds. I was directed to contact the manufacturer but was told to use a search engine to find them, which I was unable to do. Maybe someone will contact me after I post this review!Update: After posting this review, TAUSOM contacted me via email through Amazon and offered me a Full Refund which I accepted.

read the great reviews, decided to give this a try. Bought the MAPP gas as it is the strongest. Flame is strong, but goes out repeatedly and has to be reignited about every 30 seconds. Tried all the troubleshooting tips, did not resolve the issue. Even while flame is strong, it takes several minutes to successfully burn a patch of weeds that is less than 12" x 12", I have a patch that is probably 15 feet by 15 feet that needs to be eradicated - it would take me a year to do so. Complete was of money, and the return process was nightmarish - nothing like I typically experience with Amazon.

Did the job very well. If you had a ton of property you’ll go through the small canisters of propane quickly. I really like it!

I figured this torch would have multiple components to assemble, but it's only two pieces. You simply insert one section into the other and twist them together until tight. Of course, you have to provide your own propane cylinder and attach that as well.Once I had it assembled, all I had to do is adjust the on-off knob until I heard the propane start coming out. I clicked the start button which is midway down the handle, and the torch fired up on the first click. I did this multiple times and it came to life each time on the first click. To me, that conveys the feeling that it should continue to light for a long time to come. The size of the flame is controlled by adjusting the black control knob. It controls how much propane is flowing. To extinguish the flame, just close the black control knob all the way clockwise. The flame is blue (=hot), and is anywhere from 2 to 4 inches long depending on how much propane is flowing.I tried burning some weeds in the sidewalk crack this morning and it made quick work of them. I thought it would have consumed them faster than it did, but it's raining a lot around here lately. I need to find the ideal position where it supplies the most heat. I did find that I needed to bend over just a bit for the flame to be next to the ground, so a couple inches longer would have been better. Still, it works great. I'll have to keep my teenage son from playing with it.
