This weed Wacker/eater/trimmer line holder is pretty good. I was suppressed at how big of a spool it can hold. I mounted a 3b/850 ft line spool on and had to shrink the bracket down as small as I could to fit it. That means this could hold spools 5 times the size. WOW. It did not come with instructions though I figured out how to install it. Only later did I realize they are on the listing. Oh well. I do wish they came with smaller bolts for thin metal mounting. I ended up using a couple in my stock. Other than that this works well with little issues. The only Issue I have with it is the mounting bracket itself (where you mount the bracket to something) is a little flimsy and wobbles. I wish that was a little more stout.

Ok I’m not a commercial lawn care person so I installed this unit on the wall in my garden shed. It was fairly easy to install and adjust to proper width for my spool. I did have an issue with the little slots that retains the string. Every time I let go of the string after cutting it would pop out of the slot and allow string to unspool and get messy. I took a paper clip thing and attached to edge. String now remains in slot and neat. I keep a pair of wire cutters on the shelf and cut off a length of string when needed or throw a piece on the side by side and take with me when weedeating around the barns etc. This unit is handy as you don’t have to fumble with the spool and it makes it easy to measure out the appropriate length as you have both hands free. So even if you aren’t a professional this is great just to mount in your garden shed or garage ( wherever you store your weedeater). It’s more economical to buy the larger spools but can be a pain to keep them from unraveling. Remember if your string drys out over time and becomes brittle just soak in bucket of water overnight and it’s good to go again.Good items and sturdy, just put a clip if your string won’t stay in slots.

There is no doubt that this is heavy duty and it will hold your trimmer line. My biggest complaint about it is the fact that they didn't include any directions on how to put it together. They do have some pictures here online, but it would be much easier if the directions were right in the package.I'm not putting mine on a trailer, I am mounting it to a workbench so I won't be using the bolts but I will use two big wood screws that they included. A simple set of directions would have really made a difference, other than that I do highly recommend it.

Honestly, when I first ordered this item, my intentions were not to mount it onto a trailer. I thought it would be nice mounted in my garage (somehow). After receiving it, I wasn't impressed with the build quality but also realized that its main intent is to mount to a trailer fender. If you look at how the bolts must go through both pieces to hold it together and then through the trailer fender (but look how long those bolts actually are). If I were to mount this to a fender, then I would have to worry that if I hit a bump or the trailer "bounced" low enough the bolts would shred the tires. They could've thought this out a little better.I'm only giving this 3 stars (and almost did 2) because it's just THAT unimpressive. Sorry....

Grade 5 hardware is included. I put this on my big tool rack to hold my line spool. Note, on the BTR only used one bolt, and an existing hole in the rack. The supplied hardware with the spool holder is too large for the BTR, so I used other bolts/nuts that came with the BTR.Product does the job. Seems to be painted alright.

I originally picked this up thinking it was usable for regular size spools. I got this to replace my handmade line holder for network cabling spool. It did require some modifications but it is sturdy and easy to assemble. I set it up for its original use for weed wacker spools but then added some sides to accommodate a bigger spool. It would be a small modification for the manufacturer to built it to accommodate multiple size spools and maybe broaden its target market.
