I have a classic car that does not get started much and I kept having to replace batteries often as they would go dead as the car sat. This should really help save my batteries moving forward as I can easily (without tools) disconnect the battery and not have it be dead every time I go to start the car. The item is very easy to install and simple to use.

A decent switch but not really internally heavy duty enough to serve as a main battery disconnect switch. It will not handle the high amps needed.

I ordered four battery disconnect switches, and this was by far the cheapest of all of them, not in price, but in quality and durability. It does, however, fit the negative terminal of a US battery as good or better than some of the others.The plastic rotating switch feels like it has about ten turns in it, then it’s going to fail. Since this is the business part of the switch, it should be the sturdiest but it’s not. Instead, it’s made of what feels like cheap and brittle plastic of which you see cheap toys made. The metal, which is advertised as pure copper, is actually a shiny yellow metal (maybe yellow tin) plated over some other metal. It’s already flaking off.When rotated 90 degrees, it has a definite CLICK when it’s switched ON or OFF. The connectors will fit a standard US-spec negative post and cable measuring 0.59-0.67 inches (15-17mm). One of the pictures in the product description is a bit confusing because it shows negative posts ranging from 11-13mm, 15-17mm, and 17-19mm.It’s listed for $11.99, but I recommend spending at least $20 for a good one which will last.

Overall this feels to be a well made disconnect switch with the exception of the switch itself. The handle and internal spring give the impression it will be less than reliable with a lot of use. I ordered this for use on our travel trailer battery and I am hopeful it will hold up to the turning on and turning off associated with storage of the camper.
