Bought this to replace our old Kwikset that was going through batteries every 3 months. Have had this one installed for two years and only replaced the batteries once! Easy to install and setup. Love the sleek design and keypad too.

I’ve had this a few years. It’s awful. I have tried to like it as they are expensive. The deadbolt always goes into the locked position when you walk by the door causing it to bang into your door casing. It won’t actually lock however when you want it too easily. The screen is very difficult to turn on to key in your pin. It’s also very evident because of the touch screen what 4 numbers get pushed for the pin. I have used a lot of similar locks. This one is an awful experience and very frustrating.

I purchased this lock and had to return it.Even with assistance from Yale Customer Support (who were very nice) the lock would not allow a master code to be set. This is a lovely looking lock. The actual manual lock was lovely and smooth. IF the programming had worked on the I think I would have liked it immediately....Second attempt.I had experience installing the lock and had watched tons of videos because of the first lock usses. This time the lock installation was quick and had it installed, master code set, 3 user codes set, and paired with Samsung SmartThings in less than 40 minutes.Couldn't be happier. (Well wasting hours the first time is why I gave it 4/5 stars)

So far I have really liked this lock and it has functioned flawlessly. I like that it is a one press lock and you don't have to enter the code to lock. The lock moves smoothly with no issues. The zwave functionality has been working well for the most part. It is directly connected to Smartthings with no issues, but I also have it connected to Home Assistant (via ST). Whenever HA restarts it always thinks the lock is unlocked even though it is not. That is not a lock issue, just mentioning for others that may be looking for a HA integration. With that said though, these locks do seem to be overpriced for what they are. A simple combo powered lock runs less than $50 these days, not sure why manufacturers think the zwave connection part is worth another $100.

The is the 2nd Yale Zwave deadbolt that I bought. The first one (RYD210) was bought back in 2011 and it is still work well. I replace it because the color on the outside is all dull due to 12 years weather exposure. This touchscreen one look much more luxurious and I like the voice instruction is very convenience. Also the sound effort is much soft. But other than that, the installation design and functions are all pretty much sme as 12 years ago. And work just the same. Fairly reliable with few issues that can be resolved by completely reset and reprogram. The only thing lack is the random code feature that Kiwkset/Weiser has so people cannot see your finger print to guest your code.

I literally bought 2 of these (Yale Assure Lock SL) because I though the first one must be defective. But no, it just does not work. First of all, the instructions are unclear as to WHICH Yale app to even install (because there are several). Once I installed Yale Access, it asks me to scan a QR code. THERE IS NO QR code. Well, that's not true. There is one QR code on the PCB circuit board, but that's not the one it wants. Alternatively, it asks for the serial number. There is a barcode (not QR), but of course the app is not smart enough to scan it. But it does allow you to manually enter the serial number. Unfortunately, once entered, the app cannot find any device matching that serial number. Next, there is an option to skip the serial number altogether and add a device by type. The Yale app actually doesn't have a full listing of exact product models to choose from. The closest item in the list was "Yale Assure Lock". Once selecting that, it tries to scan for the device. Of course it cannot find it. I factory reset the lock and re-established a master code and tried again. I also tried by going into options 7, then 1 and scan with the app WHILE the lock is in network mode. No difference. I tried another app: Samsung SmartThings. This app actually has a full listing of Yale products, including an option for "Yale Assure Lock SL". However, SmartThings cannot see the device either. I watched a YouTube video of someone going through the EXACT steps to detect this lock on SmartThings and my locks simply cannot be detected. Remember, I purchased TWO of these. Neither can be detected. This product is total garbage. Even if it did work, which it does not, the Yale app is terrible, unintuitive, and should be completely redesigned. I am so pissed at this company. The actual physical part of the lock works fine and functions well. However, the product I purchased is supposed to be usable with my smart home app, and that is where the problems come in.

I have Abode home security & automation system and needed a lock that works with it. The Yale Assure lock with z-wave was up and running in 10 minutes (to be fair I have installed a lot of regular dead bolts, this isn't really any different, just have to make sure you put the wires in the right way, but that's pretty easy). The z-wave integration with Abode was easy enough, although if your not tech savy you may struggle with that part. Nice that I can set it up to notify my phone when its open, AND I can lock and unlock through my Abode phone appThe lock is grade 2, so better than a regular cheap deadlock you'd pick up at the hardware store, so it is a step up in security, just make sure your strike plate on the door frame using 3 inch long screws that reach the frame, otherwise it won't matter if you have grade1 or 2 or 3 deadbolt- anyone could kick it open in a few seconds. This comes with everything you need, screws and all, just make sure it goes all the way into the frame of the house and not just the trim. The touch screen is very nice and responds very well and the autolock function works really well, especially when you have kids and hands are always full... no fussing with keys is such a luxury that I wish I gotten sooner. This thing looks fancy too.I can't say enough about my first impressions. That being said, I will update in 3 and 6 months...Update: a few months in and I couldn’t be happier. Opening it 5 times a day at least and battery is still strong. No issues, works great!!
